Proposed View of THE MISSION from Boulder Avenue
Boulder Avenue being vacated and First Street coming to a dead-end affords THE MISSION many opportunities to have special events in these streets that either are or can be closed to vehicular traffic. Special events that we are planning to have outdoors include jazz festivals, fruit festivals, classic car shows, farmers markets, pumpkin patches, Christmas tree lots, and concerts. Additionally, most of the high school and college music performances that we schedule will be staged or located on Boulder Avenue. During the four colder months from November through February, Boulder Avenue could feature a temporary ice rink which will encourage visitors to THE MISSION to celebrate the cold rather than stay inside. Finally, THE MISSION will hold a very public Christmas tree lighting and menorah lighting ceremonies either on Boulder Avenue or within our pedestrian plaza areas during the holiday season.
