THE MISSION will have a music program that solicits song submissions from aspiring and lesser-known recording artists which will enable them to submit songs for inclusion in our outdoor music play list. We will jury the songs simply to ensure that there is no vulgarity or voice-cracking, but for the most part, we want to encourage an eclectic JACK-FM or NPR-type mix of sounds, music, and lyrics from around the world that most have never heard before.
Additionally, CMS will be partnering with each of the high school and college music programs throughout Southern Nevada by offering each jazz band, choir, and orchestra the opportunity to entertain guests at THE MISSION in our pedestrian plaza along Boulder Avenue. This will raise awareness of our unique project among musicians throughout the region and attract visits from their families and friends, who generally are receptive and appreciative to the arts by virtue of their interest in their child’s participation in school music programs.
